FUNdraising Tips For Your Duck!
Here are some fast, easy and simple FUNdraising ideas for your team to help raise funds to fight cancer and to reach your fundraising goal.
Raffle/Auction- Both an auction and a raffle are great ways to raise money while giving you supporters the motivation to spend their money with the possibility that they will be walking away with something. Put together some prizes whether they be a wine hamper, dinner for two, gift vouchers and talk to your local businesses to throw some surprises in
Matched Giving – tell you employer all about your duck race team challenge and the cause and challenge them to match give for every dollar you raise
Mini Duck Race – host your own duck race and sell ducks in the race. Get a blow up pond and number your ducks and have a mini duck race draw or take them down to the closest water feature and see which one crosses the finish line first.
Yellow Day – Take a break from the dress code and go YELLOW! Get staff to “donate” for this privelage. Whether the staff decide to dress down or go yellow or even dress as a DUCK! - they can make a donation toward your team.
Trivia Night – get each of your team members to get a table of ten together and host a Trivia night. Charge $5 per person and if you have ten people per ten team members that’s $500 you can raise in one go!
Yellow Shake Collection – use your supplied duck money box and get a staff member dressed in yellow or as a duck and ask them to rattle the tin around the work place to make a donation toward the cause
Communicate and promote your efforts
- Let everyone know what you plan to achieve and promote this great thing you are doing to help people with cancer. A great way to raise money is by sending an email or text message to everyone you know.
- Be creative! The more ways you promote, the more ways people can support you!
- Put posters up around your office, school or local community group. Click here for a list of posters.
- Use the email footers supplied or include a link to your profile page on your auto signature. Click here to choose an email footer.
- Add a message to your answering machine to encourage people to show their support.
- Ask if you can send a notice in your company’s payslips or be included in other internal communications.
